From the Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik—more-easily referred to as WMF—comes this handsome and useful brass tray from the early Twentieth Century. Hand-hammered of brass, it measures nearly 18″ across and bears the classic WMF ostrich mark showing that it was made between 1909 and 1914 for the French market. It is a nice example of German Jugendstil design and craftsmanship, from the southern part of the country.
Tomorrow we travel across the English Channel to see more crafted brass.
