New Place, Same Aesthetic

Mid-Century Single Old Fashioned Rocks Glasses with Japanese Kimono Graphics (LEO Design)

Loyal customers of LEO Design already know that we have pulled-up stakes and moved West.  We are headquartered now in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, operating out our our new (old) Tudor Revival home.  Built in 1906, it’s the perfect setting for our Handsome Gifts and home furnishings.  And we continue to sell on-line.  In the next few months, we will improve the website and we’ve already begun hunting for more wonderful treasures—like the Japanese-inspired mid-century rocks glasses, shown above.  Though American (and made in the 1960’s), they have a decidedly Late-Nineteenth Century Aesthetic Movement sensibility. The Aesthetic Movement sometimes incorporated (Anglicized) Asian decorative elements, often in a “cut-and-paste” manner, like the glasses above.  These are embellished with 22 karat gold which gives a lift to the otherwise bold graphic elements.  The set of five single old fashioned glasses are a nice, smaller size—still nice for a man, yet comfortable in a woman’s hand.

LEO Design's Greenwich Village store is now permanently closed.  While we contemplate our next shop location, please visit our on-line store which continues to operate  (www.LEOdesignNYC.com).
