I’m out on-the-road, seeking to replenish the shop after a busy Holiday season. In Western Pennsylvania—where I am now—plus nearby West Virginia and Ohio, much of America’s Twentieth Century glassware was crafted. It seems many Eastern Europeans alighted in this region after their Atlantic crossings—and they brought their glassmaking skills with them from the old country.
The glasses above—one of two different sets of green glassware I’ve just purchased—have a lovely shade of emerald and a soft, “quilted” texture to the glass. They’ll look even better after I’ve washed the dust off of them!
Come into the shop to see them (and other recent acquisitions). They should be cleaned, priced and placed on the floor by New Year’s Eve.
