Colored glass has always been popular—at least since the time that glass artists learned how to impart such hues into their molten material. In the Modernist era, after World War II, colored glassware (for drinking or serving) enjoyed a boost in popular demand. This set of six Modernist crystal stems are shaded with a smoky blue and topped with a platinum rim. A metal rim, like this, is not only aesthetically pleasing, but it also helps (a bit) to protect the delicate glass rim (where it is most likely to be chipped).
