To cleanse the palate after days of highly-decorated objets, let’s look at a simple and useful item: an Arts & Crafts hand-hammered, silver-plated serving tray. Finding them pragmatic, I buy (and sell) as many nice trays as I can find. This one, made in the 1910’s, is quite handy being long yet narrow.
