This delicately hand-painted vintage Santa is dressed in hand-stitched fabric garments—"stiffened" in the manor of traditional Neapolitan creche figures. On his back he lugs a bag of gifts while carrying a crozier in his hand (a reference to Saint Nicholas's role as a bishop).
