A bold Ottoman horseman raises his gun atop his rearing mount. These cast iron bookends—with handsome bas relief sculpting—were made by Hubley (Lancaster Pennsylvania) in the Twenties or Thirties, just after the end of the Ottoman Empire (1299-1922).
