From "An Almanac of Twelve Sports" (published in London in 1898), an English print of a pair of boxers—one Black, one White—by artist William Nicholson, RA (1872-1949). Printed lithographically after the original, hand-tinted woodblock print. Framed in an antique, quarter-sawn-oak sloped-profile frame (c. 1900). Note: the antique oak frame shows several small "chips" along the edges (see detail photos)—nicks sustained over the years, which do not diminish the beauty of the pairing (in my opinion).
