A ring of bas-relief "tridents" encircles the base of this tall, matte green Arts & Crafts trumpet vase, made by Zanesville (in Ohio). Perfect for controlling a bouquet of long stem flowers; the vase is nice and deep, yet, the (somewhat) constricted collar at the top of the vase will help to hold-together the bunch. This vase would also provide a tall (and substantial) counterpoint within an arranged collection of matte green vases. Zanesville vases were made with old school, fairly primitive methods, thus they frequently show small production flaws—glaze skips, air bubbles, textured blemishes—which add to each piece's unique charm. Note the two base frits, shown in the detail photo. (11.5" x 6.25") ap13097d
