This vase's form—classic, heavy, stable—is enervated by two muscular handles and a corseted shoulder. But the sublime, crystalline glaze provides the magic: a steely, metallic, dappled aqua lying upon a warm curry underglaze. The finish is organic and otherworldly (and difficult to describe). Made in Art Nouveau France by Pierrefonds. (8" x 8") ap13060e
