A sensuous Arts & Crafts hanging bowl from Marblehead Pottery (which was founded in 1904 as an occupational therapy training program at a sanitarium in Marblehead, Massachusetts). A verdant matte green glaze lies over the vessel's red clay body. Hang it from its three attractive arms or place the basket into a ring (or jar cover) to stand-it-upright on a table. Note the triangular ceramic "firing stilt" which remains inside the bowl. This stilt was used to keep items elevated in the kiln—so that they would not attach to the kiln or another piece being fired. Apparently, this stilt was never removed by the ceramicists.
