This classical urn-form vase—with "energized" Art Nouveau "whiplash" handles—was made by Roseville (in Ohio) in the Twenties. A khaki-olive overglaze drips organically over the mustard underglaze while prompting the question: is this piece tan, yellow, or green? Whatever the answer, it is a sublime form, heightened with sophisticated coloration. It was produced under the "Carnelian" name. (7.25" x 6.25") ap13110c
