An "advertising piece" for the Gall & Lembke company at 21 Union Square, New York City. Gall & Lembke was a premier maker of optical and scientific equipment (founded in 1869). This wall-mount mercury thermometer is mounted upon an engraved brass plate, mounted-in-turn to a wooden back plate. The piece is topped with a convenient hanging loop.
