Hercules's first challenge was to kill the terrifying Nemean Lion. In this German porcelain sculpture, the young boy-hero wears the mantle of the slain beast—which now makes Hercules impervious to the weapons of mortals. Made in the Late Nineteenth Century from an earlier Hochst mould. (6" x 4.5" x 4") sc12337d
