Today, Easter Sunday, is such an important day in my life. As a Catholic, Easter is the highpoint of the Christian calendar and the pinnacle of my year. It was on Easter Sunday—thirty years ago today!—that my partner (now my husband) and I became a couple. And it was seven years ago today that we brought home our delightful little pup, Benji, who has been a constant joy in our lives (shown here in my shop on Hudson Street, NYC).
The current shut-in and shut-down has been such a challenge—physically, economically, spiritually—and I long for our return to (close to) normal. Yet I realize that, so far, I've been one of the luckier ones and I remain grateful that I have escaped the worst. I pray for those who have suffered so much more.
Despite the National Gloom, I will remind myself that Easter is a joyful time. For me, Easter provides life's most important instruction. Life returns—seemingly from the dead—and things get better. This, too, shall pass.
Happy Easter!
