Truant’s Day ?

Spelter "Whistling Boy" Sculpture by Vaclav Szczeblewski (LEO Design)

In some years, today’s the first day of Spring.  In Poland, students celebrate the day by—skipping school?  Yes, it’s Truant’s Day!

The little boy, pictured above, may or may not be missing class.  He was sculpted by a Polish artist however, Vaclav Szczeblewski.  And whether Mr. Szczeblewski ever skipped school, I can’t say.  Apparently, he never missed art class—judging from the beauty of his work.

By the way, this year, in North America, the first moment of Spring hit yesterday, 20 March.

Happy Spring!
