This piece of 1960’s Italian pottery has the reassuring sensibility of the Art Deco which preceded it. First the spherical ceramic form was cast, fired, and then painted with its soft blue glaze. After that it was placed atop a revolving surface and lines of colored glazes were applied to the spinning orb. Made in Italy, the piece was imported to the States by Rosenthal-Netter, a large importer of Post-War European ceramics. Please come into the shop to see it in-person.
