Is Spring finally here? This American Arts & Crafts matte green jardiniere bursts with verdant energy. And it brings me back to the springtime of my "merchant youth"—when I opened my first shop on Bleecker Street in 1995. At the time (and though I did not know what "Arts & Crafts" was), I started building a nice collection of this type of pottery. As the style was (then) very popular, I had a hard time keeping a sizable collection intact. In time, it became increasingly difficult to find nice and affordable pieces.
For the last ten (or so) years, I've had no more than a couple pieces at a time. I found this piece not long ago—and it brought back memories of a time when I had a whole sideboard's worth of pieces.
This piece was made by Weller, around 1910, and it would be happy to hold your potted orchid or any other special plant. It can be found in our on-line store. Please click on the photo above to learn more about it.
LEO Design's Greenwich Village store is now permanently closed. While we contemplate our next shop location, please visit our on-line store which continues to operate (www.LEOdesignNYC.com).
