Well, my trunks are packed and my last-minute buying trip to England is coming to an end. I’ve found a lot of nice, Handsome Gifts on this trip including the English Arts & Crafts carved oak trunk, shown above. Throughout the worldwide Art Nouveau Movement, designers and craftsmen often revived earlier cultural themes or design styles—in this example, the Jacobean period. It was meant to evoke the (supposed) better, purer times of previous centuries.
With a little luck—and cooperation from U.S. Customs—this trunk (and the rest of my recent purchases) should be in-store and ready for sale by 15 December. We look forward to seeing you in the shop soon.
