Notes From the Road – part IX

Victorian English Enameled Silver Brooch (LEO Design)

Boy, I love the Gothic.  I think that Gothic building represents the high point of the architectural craft.  And Nineteenth Century Gothic Revival is right up there as well.  And so, naturally, I am drawn to the Gothic Revival in the decorative arts.

Shown above, a quick snap of a piece I just bought: a late 19th Century silver brooch, enameled with an intertwined cruciform design.  It looks good now;  imagine how nice it will be once it’s polished-up!

Please come into the shop toe see it in person.  It should be received and ready by the end of October. Or, if you prefer, it will be posted to the on-line shop shortly thereafter.

More from the road tomorrow.
