The only thing better than a LEO is—two LEOs! This pair of bookends, made by Bradley & Hubbard (Meriden, CT) in the 1930's, are crafted of cast iron and finished with a golden wash. They are inspired by the Nineteenth Century work of French anamalier Antoine-Louis Barye. Because they are "mirrored"—that is, one faces left while the other faces right—two moulds were required (and twice as much work). It also means that both of your lions will be facing forward on your bookshelf. Please click on the photo above to learn more about them.
Another LEO tomorrow.
LEO Design's Greenwich Village store is now permanently closed. While we contemplate our next shop location, please visit our on-line store which continues to operate (www.LEOdesignNYC.com).
