Fit for a Tsar

Frames of Finely-Cast Pewter, Gold Plated, Enameled and Set with Swarovski crystals (LEO Design)

When I first discovered these beautiful photo frames—designed and made by Edgar Berebi in Providence, Rhode Island—I was astounded by their quality and old-time craftsmanship. First the frames are cast in pewter, then hand-chased (finished) to remove any flaws or rough areas.  Next they are plated in 24 karat gold, enameled, and decorated with hand-set Swarovski crystals.  The amount of time and effort required results in the kind of frames one might have found in Napoleon III’s Paris or The Tsar’s Saint Petersburg.

I usually avoid newly-made items which might be confused for antiques.  In this case, however, the frames’ quality and craftsmanship make stocking them a requirement! Furthermore, even when one does find them, the old ones are usually the wrong size, missing stones, or many (many)-times the price.  I am always proud to put-out a new collection of these exquisitely-made frames.
