We’ve just purchased a small collection of Danish Modern art pottery by ceramicist Nils Thorsson for Royal Copenhagen. Made in the 1960’s and 1970’s, their naive, hand-crafted, and seemingly random “batik” decoration belies the spare forms of the ceramic vessels. Shown in front, a streamlined, square-shaped vase. Behind it, a compressed, lidded flask. “Soft square” bowls round-out the collection. $135 to $475.
