Back to Basics

English Art Deco Cufflinks with Pistachio & Pine Enameling (LEO Design)

I love everything I buy.  After all, what’s the point of being a shopkeeper if you aren’t “keeping” things that you like?  Sad to say, I spend more waking hours with my merchandise than I do my spouse!  So choosing just one “department” (or category of merchandise) to call “my favorite” is a difficult task—and probably pointless. It’s like the tired trope of “picking one’s favorite child.”  All this being said, I experienced a frisson of delight as I photographed and posted this pair of cufflinks on-line.  I guess of all LEO Design’s varied offerings, “Cufflinks” best satisfies the company’s “Handsome Gifts” mandate.  And it was nice to get back to the basics of shopkeeping after the diversion of closing the shop and moving it 400 miles West.

The cufflinks above, made in England in the 1930’s, have a great (yet simple) Art Deco look. Pistachio and Pine Green enameling form bold stripes on silver lozenges.  They are just perfect for Spring—and will still look sharp right into the summer season.  Please click upon the photo above to learn more about them.

LEO Design's Greenwich Village store is now permanently closed.  While we contemplate our next shop location, please visit our on-line store which continues to operate  (www.LEOdesignNYC.com).
