Now a piece from England: a Pilkington Royal Lancastrian art pottery vase from the 1920’s or 1930’s. With its vertically-ribbed, gourd-like form, it straddles both the Arts & Crafts and Art Deco movements. And the curdled citrus glazing evokes lemons, oranges and tangerines. Its nice size, handsome form and bold coloration make it a real standout—either shown alone or as part of a grouping. This is but one of many pieces of European art pottery received in recent overseas shipments. Please come into the shop to see it in-person—alongside its crate-mates. Tomorrow: more from our recent shipments of European art pottery.
